Even if you’ve already visited the 10th Gwangju Biennale, there’s still plenty to see outside the Hall on the Biennale Square. This year’s satellite programming includes interactive events every weekend through the closing on November 9.
From 1pm to 6pm on Saturdays and Sunday, weekend concerts by local musicians fill the Square with a mix of folk, classic, jazz and world music. More traditional varieties of Korean performance is included in the mix, such as gugak. The art market opens during the same time, selling handmade goods that range from candles and jewelry to illustrated postcards and calligraphic works.
For those coming with their families, face painting, nail art, paper toy folding, pottery making and more will be held from 2pm for 5pm.
