[About the Artist]
LEE Insung paints scenes drawn from memorable moments in life—whether they are moments he has already encountered or those that may unfold in the future. His work often depicts symbolic imagery that recalls and interprets aspects of life that typically remain unseen.
A distinctive element in his paintings is the vivid orange dot that punctuates the canvas. Placed within otherwise familiar landscapes, this orange mark both intrigues viewers and serves as a key to unlocking the symbolic or metaphorical dimensions of the work. It opens the paintings to multiple interpretations, lending them layered meanings. Ultimately, the orange dot functions as both a tool for audiences to reinterpret life’s various scenes through their own narratives and a unique metaphor that has come to represent the artist himself.
