SubjectGwangju Biennale introduces its new CI in 20 years

 

Gwangju Biennale has become one of the world's  prestigious biennales in 20 years and recently introduced its new CI(Corporate Identity).

 

Gwangju Biennale(Chief Director: Yoon-cheol Jeon) held a press conference on the 20th of this month regarding development plans of Gwangju Biennale along with release of a new CI.

 

Gwangju Biennale founded in 1995 had used a CI with the shape of lights coming from Mudeung Mountain which is a symbol of Gwangju City.

 

While the former CI symbolizes will of Gwangju Biennale for harmony of the people and expansion to the world, the new CI represents identity of Gwangju Biennale that has been leading discourses of modern arts for 20 years.

 

The minimum pattern unit, '‘ is eye-catching as it visualizes 'breakaway' from the existing frame. It contains challenging spirit of Gwangju Biennale that dismantles the existing rules through open perspectives, satisfying the significance of Gwanju Biennale as an avant-garde festival. It generates aesthetic discourses that lead trends of the time, identifies vision of Gwangju Biennale and pursues to be a leader of international art circles.
