The Gwangju Biennale Foundation’s international lecture series heads to Seoul this week, with events that will see it taken out of the lecture hall and onto the streets of the capital.
The forum “Techne of Independency” will unfold from 2pm to 6pm in the Malgeunnae Hall of Changcheon Church in the university area of Sinchon. The forum will include talks and lectures by a variety of international artists and creative professionals, such as Zulu Kageyama of Art Lab Ova, Helen Ku and Kyung Yong Lim of The Book Society, Grant McConnell of CARFAC, and more.
Performances under the name “Hacking the City” will be held throughout the main Sinchon street, which was recently converted into a transit mall. Local indie musicians will provide live tunes from 2pm to 10pm.
The forum is the final portion of the foundation’s lecture series, which has included talks by Alfredo Jaar, Pelin Tan, and more.
