The last Wednesday of every month is a designated Culture Day in Korea, and the 10th Gwangju Biennale is happy to participate with a special late-night open and admission discount on September 24.
On Culture Day, which seeks to provide cultural opportunities for those 9-to-6 office workers who miss exhibition opening times, the Biennale Hall will open till 8pm. In addition, those who purchase admission tickets after 6pm will receive up to a 50 percent discount: Adult tickets will be 9,000 won (from 14,000 won), Youth tickets will be 4,000 won (from 6,000 won), and Children’s tickets will be 2,000 won (from 4,000 won).
The 10th Gwangju Biennale, which runs through November 9, will participate in the next Culture Day as well, on October 29.
“For the first 2014 Gwangju Biennale’s Culture Day, we decided to extend our opening hours and offer a special discount on admissions, so that we can have an even more meaningful encounter with the region,” said Chung Dong Chea, interim president of the Gwangju Biennale Foundation. “I hope that local office workers and citizens will be able to enjoy our dynamic, radical contemporary art event.”
