Artist Studio Visit – Noh Yeowoon
Wednesday, May 16, 2019
16:00 - 18:00 @ artist studio in Gwangju
As part of the "Monthly Gathering" organized by the Gwangju Biennale Foundation, the Artist Studio Visit for the month of May will take place on the 16th, 16:00 - 18:00 at artist Noh Yeowoon’s studio in Gwangju.
Visitors will have the chance to engage in a direct exchange with the artist regarding his artwork and gain insight into his new works which are to be presented in his upcoming solo exhibition since his two-year hiatus.
Noh’s decade long project Golmoggil (alley), in his signature tone and lyrical atmosphere, shows traces of people yet contains no human subjects. Through this method, he reminds the audience of life while invoking a sense of longing for childhood memories. His series Sideun Kkot (withered flower) is a portrayal of ourselves in which we are swept away and consumed by the perception of others.
