SubjectThe 15th Gwangju Biennale Appoints NCT WISH as ambassadors

NCT WISH, a global K-pop artist group, has been appointed as ambassadors for the 15th Gwangju Biennale.

The Gwangju Biennale Foundation (President Park Yang-woo) announced on July 2, that NCT WISH will serve as ambassadors to promote the upcoming 15th Gwangju Biennale, scheduled to commence on September 7, 2024, with the aim to raise awareness worldwide beyond Korea.

The Foundation announced that NCT WISH was selected as the ambassador based on its resonance with the Gwangju Biennale, which, since its first edition in 1995, has built an international reputation as Asia’s leading art exhibition and demonstrated an experimental spirit through new discourses.

Comprising six talented members-SION, RIKU, YUSHI, JAEHEE, RYO, and SAKUYA-NCT WISH debuted in February this year, bringing fresh and positive energy to the music scene. The name “NCT WISH” represents the convergence of the members' and fans' deepest desires, symbolizing a shared journey towards fulfilling dreams. Guided by their catchphrase, “WISH for Our WISH,” the group is dedicated to taking advantage of their music and love to support and realize the wishes of people everywhere. In 2024, they are being spotlighted as the most promising new act and are actively engaging in dynamic activities.

The Gwangju Biennale Foundation anticipates that its collaboration with the ambassadors NCT WISH will resonate strongly with the MZ generation, Millennials and Generation Z, and maximize the value of sharing and experiencing both the tangible and intangible culture that the Gwangju Biennale embodies.

NCT WISH stated, “We are honored to be appointed as the ambassadors for the 15th Gwangju Biennale. As the ambassadors, we will strive to promote the Gwangju Biennale to a wider global audience.”

Meanwhile, the 15th Gwangju Biennale will be held under the title, Pansori, a soundscape of the 21st century, for 86 days from September 7, to December 1, 2024, at the Gwangju Biennale Exhibition Hall and throughout the Yangnim-dong area.
